UPPSC / PCS Kya Hai?

Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) conducts the state-level civil services examination through which candidates are selected for posts including Deputy Collector, DSP, BDO, and ACMO. It is considered the most prestigious state-level examination in Uttar Pradesh after UPSC CSE.

UPPCS PCS Exam Structure

Prelims (Objective)

→Paper I: GS – 150 questions, 200 marks
→Paper II: CSAT – 100 questions, 200 marks (Qualifying: 33%)
→Negative marking applicable
→Cutoff based on GS Paper I only

Mains (Descriptive)

→8 papers including Hindi, Essay, GS I-IV, Optional Subject
→Total merit marks: 1500
→Hindi mandatory as medium option
→Answer writing quality crucial for high score

Interview

→100 marks personality test
→Based on DAF (Detailed Application Form)
→Conducted in Allahabad/Prayagraj
→Final merit = Mains + Interview
